Ease of Ownership - Part 2 Jet Quality

Every day people come into our stores to order replacement jets for their hot tubs that have broken or worn out or that fall out when the jet pump is turned on.  In fact the number one part that needs replacement on a hot tub is the jet.  There are a multitude of jets in the marketplace sold by dozens of spa manufacturers that very in size and shape and we cater mainly to these folks.  For the most part all of these jets are very similar; built the same way and of the same quality.

Most spa manufacturers buy their jets from just a couple of main jet manufacturers and incorporate them into their spas, so they all end up having pretty much the same jet design and hydrotherapy with minor aesthetic variations.

Why am I telling you all this you might well ask?  Because having to replace all the jets in your hot tub every 3 to 5 years starts to add up when a single jet can run you $25 and there are 20 to replace.  Plus, to make your jets last you should clean them regularly to remove calcium build up (see Hot Tub Scaling blog below)...which amounts to a fair amount of work.   That's why if you read these company's limited warranties the jets are covered for only 1 or 2 years!

Now Sundance Spas realized this problem surrounding jet failure and set out to design a new category of jets that would provide excellent hydrotherapy plus would be durable and not need to be regularly cleaned or replaced.

This new series of jet is called Fluidix and they are patented by Sundance and have been available on our spas for over 5 years.  Fluidix jets are designed radically from the jets the rest of the industry still uses.  We achieve exceptional hydrotherapy through water pulsation, rifling action, and rotation without any moving jet parts.  In other words, we no longer use metal bearings in our jets that will corrode and wear out over time leading to jet failure.  Don't be fooled by other vendors that also have jets with no moving parts...these are simply directional jets that provide comparably poor hydrotherapy.

Interestingly, Sundance went to the main jet manufacturers first to see if they could make such a jet, but were told it couldn't be done so instead they went outside the spa industry to the automotive fluid experts in order to create the Fluidix jet technology.

So again, on the surface two spas may seem similar; same number of jets, both with variation in size and position, but they differ greatly in jet quality and durability.  The old style is adequate and has worked for years, but will cost you time and money down the road.  Sundance's Fluidix jets, will last the lifetime of the spa and won't require you to lift a finger or spend a dime...now that's ease of ownership!

Remember, before you buy understand what you're buying and really learn why some spas are better than others.  Make a smart investment in your health.

While you're at it, drop me a line about how your hot tub jets are holding up both good and bad.
