Winter Maintenance

Well with the first major frost on my lawn this morning, my thoughts unfortunately turned to the coming winter season. Before you know it the trees will be bare again and the snow will start to fly. At least I don't live in western Canada where they've already had snow on the ground! I hope I don't see snow until December because I still have 50 Sundance Spas to deliver this season at least.

Of course being in Canada, hot tub owners have to take certain precautions to maintaining their spas through the freezing cold days and nights such as:
- first, make sure you have a good insulating cover to prevent heat loss and save your money
- second, make sure you have a new or clean filter so that your spa does not go into a flow condition, thereby risking a freeze-up
- third, regularly check your hot tub to make sure it is heating and filtering appropriately
- fourth, keep the area around the spa clear of snow and ice to prevent slips and falls
- fifth, if you don't think you will use your spa much during the winter have us winterize it
- sixth, if going on vacation for a week or two, have a friend or neighbour check in on the spa once a week
- seventh, after a power interruption resulting from a winter storm make sure the spa has turned back on
- lastly, extend your arms and legs completely when doing a snow angel in your bathing suit so that you get a pretty result and full marks from your kids!!
Remember to be safe, have fun and enjoy your Sundance Spa.
